Custom 1/12 scale felted animals on a movable metal wire armature

My love for miniatures, animals and dolls has always been very strong. Drawing, sculpting and animation are also part of my passions. Since I am an eternal kid inside, I like to move and play with my miniatures which lead me to learn needle felting so that I can make movable scupltures on a metal armature. My sculptures can take many positions and are made from a mix of wool and silk. They are 1/12 scale and are made to fit in any dollhouse scene. I simply love to do custom sculptures of people's pets and am always looking forward to a new challenge. I also started to make ball jointed dolls which has been a passion of mine since I can remember. I am open for commissions, please contact me should you have any questions or comments.

Miniature felted animal orange tabby cat sculpture

Happy new year everyone!
Wishing that 2017 will bring you everything from health and happiness to mindfulness and everything that matters in life.

I haven't took the time to post my miniatures as of late for health reasons however I had to take the opportunity to wish everyone a happy new year!

So here is one of the commissions I did of a felted orange tabby cat.
Here was my mission:
I had to recreate the cat from a tv show from the sixties (Land of the giants) to a scale that would match the scale of my client's model spaceship. Here is the scene from the show that needed to be recreated.

Here is the cat I made. I placed it over the printed photograph to get a better idea.

Here are a couple more pictures showing the cat in different angles and positions.

The sculpture needed to match the scale of the model ship

So it made a very big 1/12 scale cat

My client was kind enough to send me pictures of the base he made to display the ship and the cat so it was pretty cool to see my cat in his new surroundings. I wanted to share.

Now I just have to watch that tv show!!

And on that note, I wish you all happy holidays and a happy new year!

Thanks for looking, see you next post
