Custom 1/12 scale felted animals on a movable metal wire armature

My love for miniatures, animals and dolls has always been very strong. Drawing, sculpting and animation are also part of my passions. Since I am an eternal kid inside, I like to move and play with my miniatures which lead me to learn needle felting so that I can make movable scupltures on a metal armature. My sculptures can take many positions and are made from a mix of wool and silk. They are 1/12 scale and are made to fit in any dollhouse scene. I simply love to do custom sculptures of people's pets and am always looking forward to a new challenge. I also started to make ball jointed dolls which has been a passion of mine since I can remember. I am open for commissions, please contact me should you have any questions or comments.

Great material for miniature knitting!

I am still farely new at knitting and I always do things backwards so I learned to do miniature knitting when I could barely knit in full scale. At first, it was so frustrating, I could never do two stiches... Dropped them each time. Since I am very patient (or crazy) I bought a special yarn for knitting in miniature but the results were not impressive. The yarn was not flexible and the knit resulting looked stiff. I never gave up on the idea so I was excited when I went to a shop in Ottawa (fabricationsottawa.com) that carried this needle working thread kit that caught my eyes right
as I entered the lovely shop... The price was a bit more than what I would have wanted to spend but the colours were so awesome, I could not resist... This is what the kit looks like.

I was so excited, I wanted to try it out! I have been wanting to create miniature sweaters for my felted animals for a while now and I though that this thread would work beautifully... And I was right! I love it so much I am sadly going to get a second kit to get more colour variety... I will be broke in no time...
Here is my first attempt at a sweater.

Little Trixie loves her new sweather, she is all cozy and she will be more than ready for nice walks during Fall.

Here is another dog shirt  I made, isn't it adorable?!

I love fall and so does my dogs!

A miniature needle felted ragdoll cat 1/12 scale

Here is my new cat!
I always have a hard time doing felted cats in 1/12 scale because it takes forever to gain thin paws so I decided to try something new! A combination of sculpted parts and felt! Best of both worlds, I though. I wasn't sure if it would turn out good or not but I am happy with the result! It came out very poseable and more realistic than my previous cats, Yeah! Wonder how I could name that one? Hmmm...

I used to do the eyes of my previous cats with peridot stones  but it would sadly lack definition so I used the same technique as my doll eyes. You can see this technique on my miniature eyes tutorial by clicking here .

Here is another Shih-tzu dog

This one is a big fella.
I just got a new camera so I can take better pics! No more cell phone pictures!

I really love doing Shih-tzus but different breeds will be coming soon...
